What does a support coordinator do?

A little about me
Hello! I'm Sally, a passionate and caring Support Coordinator here to make a positive difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities. As a mother of five, two of whom have disabilities, I understand first hand the challenges and hurdles faced by families like yours.
Having worked within the NDIS system, I witnessed the gaps and complexities that can make navigating plans overwhelming. This experience motivated me to become a Support Coordinator, so I can help fill those gaps and create personalised plans that truly cater to your unique needs.
What is a support coordinator?
- Help participants navigate the complexities of the NDIS system
- Connect participants with suitable providers and services
- Collaborate with participants to identify their needs, preferences, and goals
- Develop a plan to achieve the identified goals
- Assist in coordinating various types of supports, such as daily living assistance, therapy services, employment support, housing options, and social activities
- Act as guides and advocates for participants
- Help participants access services and supports tailored to their individual requirements
- Provide practical assistance in managing administrative aspects of NDIS plans, such as budgeting and coordinating service agreements.

What sets me apart from other disability coordinators?
For three years, I worked within the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme), witnessing the strength and resilience of individuals with disabilities. However, I also experienced firsthand how challenging it can be to navigate the system. The gaps and complexities within the NDIS often make it difficult for individuals to access the vital support they deserve. It was this realisation that spurred me to take action and establish my career as a disability support coordinator.
My primary goal is to bridge those gaps and ensure that no person with a disability falls through the cracks. I understand how crucial it is for individuals to receive the right support at the right time. As a parent who has been through the maze of the NDIS myself, I emphasise with the frustrations and challenges you may encounter. It is my mission to guide you through this journey and make it as smooth as possible.
